Energy Saving Tips

Check the level of insulation in your exterior and basement walls, attics, floors and crawl space.
Check for holes or cracks around all of the above.
Check for open fireplace dampers.
Caulk and weather strip doors and windows that leak air.
Caulk and seal air leaks where plumbing,ducting or electrical wiring penetrates through exterior walls, floors,ceilings.
Install storm windows
Set your thermostat when leaving the house.
Clean or replace filters on furnaces as needed.
Clean warm air registers, baseboard heaters and radiators as needed.
Use ventilation fans wisely. Keep draperies and shades open during the winter season.
Close unoccupied rooms. Select energy - efficient equipment when buying new heating and cooling and water heater equipment.
Wash clothes in cold water and do full loads whenever possible.
